FESTIVE TAKEAWAYS Taking centre stage this year at The Fullerton Cake Boutique are the inspired Yule Logs with delicious local flavours. The Ondeh Ondeh Lamington Yule Log showcases the wellloved trinity of flavours — Gula Melaka, pandan and coconut – with Gula Melaka mousse and coconut crème with shredded coconut layered between pandan chiffon sponge cake. There is also the Strawberry Lychee Bandung Yule Log, an elegant twist on another local favourite, the Bandung drink. Here, raspberry chiffon sponge cake is paired with delicate lychee mousse and strawberry jelly gently infused with rose essence. For a more punchy tropical indulgence, try the Tropical Swing Yule Log, another newcomer this year with tangy mango pineapple compote jelly, mango passion mousse and vanilla chiffon sponge. Chocolate lovers will appreciate the signature Fullerton Black Forest Yule Log with its rich Valrhona Guanaja mousse, Morello cherry compote and dark chocolate ganache with chocolate sponge. Other specials you can take away to add to your festive cheer are Camembert Cheese Cake, Galette des Rois French traditional cake, Traditional Stollen and Christmas Rum Fruit Cake. Christmas isn’t complete without the quintessential Italian bread panettone, which is baked inhouse by Chief Baker Woon Thai Suan in three flavours this year. Take your pick from the Classic Fullerton Heritage Panettone, Nanyang Mango Passion Chocolate Panettone and the hybrid Nanyang Cruffintone. The latter reinterprets the panettone with dried papaya, dried mango, dried pineapple and shredded coconut mixed and folded resembling a cruffin when baked. All three are also available in their mini versions in the form of Panettoncino and Cruffintoncino. The roast selection comes with local flavours such as the new Turkey Penyet, a unique spin on our local favourite Ayam Penyet dish. Penyet refers to a smashed and deep-fried dish in Javanese, and accordingly, this turkey is also available boneless as well as whole. It is here served with all the Ayam Penyet requisites: fragrant turmeric rice, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, crackers, cabbage, tahu and tempeh with sambal terasi. Another addition not to be missed is the Impossible Meat Wellington, featuring a hearty mound of plant-based meat encased in delightfully crisp golden puff pastry, and served alongside Brussels sprouts, roasted potato medley and wild mushroom cream sauce.
