THE WHISKY Awarded 94.5 points by Jim Murray in his 2018 Whisky Bible,
this delicious whisky from the closed Glasgow grain distillery of Port Dundas has
a sweet and mellow nose of digestive biscuits followed by a smooth, buttery palate
with vanilla fudge and chocolate toffee in the foreground and a late citrus note.
A splash of water softens this already eminently drinkable spirit even further and
highlights aromas of vanilla pods and caramel candy. The finish is long and slightly
dry with a pleasant, nutty aftertaste.
THE SOVEREIGN Long the privileged secret of master blenders and canny
warehousemen, aged single grain Scotch Whisky is growing in popularity, and with a
long history of producing luxury blended whiskies, Hunter Laing is proud to present
its jealously guarded single grain whisky holdings – all aged between 25 and 55 years –
as THE SOVEREIGN. Each release is drawn from a single cask and is bottled at natural
cask strength, without chill filtration, added water or artificial colouring providing whisky
connoisseurs and novices alike with an experience that is both intense and uncommon.
AFRAID OF COMMITMENT? Don’t be. This delicious single grain whisky is also
available for your enjoyment in an attractive 100ml. gift bottle that is cork capped,
heat sealed, boxed and hand labeled – small enough to legally carry onto your next
commercial flight, but generous enough to share among friends. Yours for $70.
